“During our recent visit to Israel this January, our mission spent our final night with Rachel and it was an encounter that none of us will forget. We wanted to offer that experience to others so we got creative and are excited to be bringing Rachel to the Soul Center community this April. We promise, it’ll be profoundly moving.” – Rabbi Dana Saroken
In this special program, Dr. Rachel Korazim (a thought leader at the Shalom Hartmann Institute in Israel) will share and discuss poetry written in the days following October 7th. The poems we will be exploring are raw and real and offer profound insights into the experiences and sentiments of those who survived the historic horrors. They will provide a unique prism through which we can see the world as it was and the impact. All of the poetry we will read is written in Hebrew and translated into English by Dr. Korazim.
We will gather in the Soul Center and learn with Dr. Korazim who will be Zooming in from Israel. After the program, we’ll stay together for a light lunch and to process the experience together with Rabbi Saroken. It will be a session that will stay with you for a long time and one that you won’t want to miss.
This program is generously sponsored by Debs Weinberg in honor and merit of her mother, Sandy Silberman, of blessed memory.
