JCS Chaverim Club for Adults with Disabilities
Thursdays, February 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; 7:00 p.m., Jewish Community Services

A weekly social club for adults with diagnosed disabilities. Get together and hang out with peers each week.  Talk, play games, watch movies, and eat snacks. This is your club, your way!  Every week the group can work with staff to plan activities for the next week. 

Free and open to the public.  RSVP required.

A fun, free weekly activity group for anyone age 16+ who has developmental disabilities on Sunday mornings. Sports, crafts, cooking, nature, and more!

Jewish Pages for the Ages: Judith Heumann

In honor of Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance & Inclusion Month (JDAIM), join Jewish Connection Network and the Jewish Library of Baltimore for this incredible program. Participate in an intergenerational book club and read about Judith Heumann, a lifelong civil rights advocate for people with disabilities. Stop by on February 13 for a family-friendly event and pick up your book. Activities include a scavenger hunt, snacks and a special guest speaker. 


What You Need to Know About Maryland State Funded Services for Disabilities

Staff from the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) will provide valuable information about eligibility requirements for state funded services and what to expect if you receive funding.

G Tube Training for Volunteers
February 19, 10:00 a.m., Jewish Connection Network and Imadi

Volunteers from Imadi and other individuals interested in volunteering with individuals who use a Gtube will learn basic skills related to GTubes.  Training will cover daily care needed, parts of the feeding tube care system, how to give feedings and change the tube, and common challenges that may arise. Training will be conducted by a registered nurse.  


Tricks and Tales
Tuesday, February 20, 5:30 p.m., Jewish Library of Baltimore and Jewish Educational Services

Designed to empower parents and cultivate a love for reading in children, this event offers invaluable insights, practical tips and engaging activities to support reluctant or struggling readers at home. This event is for both parents and their children.

Cost: $5 per child. Each child will receive a $5 Scholastic gift card after completion of the program.


Join Macks Jewish Connection Network for a virtual discussion for parents of children with special needs on the crucial topic of Power of Attorney as children turn 18. Learn how to navigate financial, legal, and healthcare decisions while preserving your child’s autonomy. After this virtual session, we invite you attend an in-person workshop (information below) on with an attorney and notary to complete the Power of Attorney form, ensuring a smooth transition into adulthood for your loved ones.

Power of Attorney Workshop

Join the Macks Jewish Connection Network for an in-person workshop as experts discuss how you can protect your child’s future with the power of attorney. Following the speaker session, parents and their young adults will have an opportunity to complete power of attorney forms (including the halachic living will), with a notary present.
