Erin Hogan is a Managing Director and Private Philanthropy Executive at Bank of America. Erin has more than 20 years experience working directly with wealthy individuals, families and private foundation clients to achieve their philanthropic goals. Erin is a recognized expert in the field of strategic philanthropy and grantmaking, and an active advisor to family foundations on matters of mission, succession, and legacy.
Prior to joining Bank of America, Erin served as an Executive Director of the Philanthropy Centre at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where she advised wealthy clients and managed professional grantmaking programs for private foundations. Erin’s previous experience includes academic research with Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, and government consulting for a variety of public health and environmental protection agencies.
Erin is an avid volunteer and advisor to public charities on strategies to strengthen organizational capacity, leverage philanthropic partners and maximize impact. She currently serves as Board Chair for the Northern Virginia Community College Education Foundation, as well as an Executive Committee member of the board of the National Center for Family Philanthropy. She is a founding advisory board member of the Virginia Funders Network, the first state-wide philanthropy serving organization for grantmakers in the Commonwealth, and she was a long-standing board member for the Smithsonian Science Education Center.
A former paramedic, Erin holds a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree from The George Washington University.
