Now Is the Moment

From the attack on Israel and rising antisemitism to the growing needs of our aging population, the struggle to preserve Jewish identity, economic instability and the mental health crisis, our community is facing immense challenges. But, as we have for over 100 years, now is the moment to come together—to help, to hope and to heal.

This is who we are. This is what we do.

The Associated provides a lifeline for our community, seamlessly combining deep-rooted community connections, experienced professionals and a global network spanning 70 countries. From local challenges to global crises, now is our moment to ensure help is always within reach.

Fight Antisemitism and
Make Our Community Safer

Antisemitism is on the rise. We’re responding by expanding security, advocating for anti-hate legislation and supporting those affected. On college campuses, we offer guidance and support to Jewish students and professors facing heightened hate.

Now is the time to stand strong and protect our community.

Support the People of Israel

After the devastation of October 7, Israel needs our support. We provide trauma counseling, mental health services and economic recovery to help rebuild lives. At home, we foster education and meaningful conversations, building strong connections, especially with our partner city, Ashkelon.

Now is the moment for Baltimore to stand with Israel.

Break the Cycle of Poverty

By addressing poverty’s root causes and offering essential assistance, we restore hope and dignity. We provide emergency aid, financial counseling, and job training to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency.

Now is the moment to offer a path to financial stability.

Enhance the Quality of Life
for Older Adults

As our population ages, we provide critical services to support older adults. We combat loneliness with social activities, help seniors live independently with affordable housing and daily assistance, and offer specialized care for Holocaust survivors.

Now is the moment to ensure our older adults receive the care they deserve.

Prioritize Well-Being
and Mental Health

Mental health is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, especially for teens and young adults. Rising antisemitism, economic uncertainty, and global instability only increase the strain. We offer counseling, workshops, and peer support to address these needs.

Now is the moment to ensure no one faces their challenges alone.

Celebrate Your Jewish Identity and Spread Jewish Joy

Despite the challenges we face, we know the importance of celebrating our identity, upholding our values, and passing on traditions. We create opportunities for involvement—from storytelling for young families to teen leadership programs. We also provide resources to ensure full inclusion for individuals with disabilities.

Now is the time to embrace and celebrate who we are.

We Have a Story to Tell

We are connected by a story—our story. A story that transcends generations, and in this moment, calls us to come together to face today’s challenges.

Now is the time for Jewish Baltimore to come together. To build. To learn. To celebrate and support one another.

Now is the time to build a brighter tomorrow. Because when we stand as one, there’s nothing we cannot achieve. Join us.

From Despair to Hope

From Despair to Hope

“I hit rock bottom in my substance recovery journey and was in a life-and-death situation. I came looking for help. Today, thanks to the support I received, I am not only thriving but also helping others as a peer substance recovery coach.”

Community Amid Crisis

Community Amid Crisis

“When October 7 happened, the campus climate was challenging. But it would have been much worse without a strong Jewish community. Everyone came together in beautiful ways and my Hillel provided a second home for Jewish students.”

Building a Future and Leading a Community

Building a Future and Leading a Community

“As a child of Ukrainian immigrants, being Jewish is a crucial part of my identity. Growing up here, I’ve been deeply involved in community programs, especially with 4Front. Now, as I start college, I plan to lead and share the lessons I’ve learned.”
