Saying Goodbye to Our Baltimore Shinshinim

It’s that bittersweet time of year when we have to say goodbye to our wonderful 2021-2022 Baltimore Shinshinim.

Our shinshinim are currently away working at nearby sleepaway camps before they will be flying back home to Israel.

During their stay in Baltimore, they volunteered in our community, serving as informal educators at schools, synagogues, camps, youth movements and other Associated funded programs and events.

From hosting Jerusalem Day to spearheading Yom Hazikaron activities to participating in the JCC’s “Chalk Over Hate” and a host of other programs, the shinshinim shared their knowledge about Israel, its people and culture.

And, when they return to Israel, they informally will become Baltimore’s ambassadors by sharing their experiences with the Baltimore Jewish community with their family and friends.

Our shinshinim have made an end-of-the-year video, we hope you enjoy it!

The shinshinim are talented Israeli high school graduates who come to Baltimore for a year of volunteer service. Our six shinshinim are hosted by community members and overseen by Jewish Education Services, an agency of The Associated.
