What does it mean for a woman to say Kaddish?

Join us for a powerful evening of reflection, conversation and storytelling as we explore the experiences of women who have said Kaddish, thought about saying it, or are curious about what it means.

This program will feature author Sarah Birnbach, whose memoir A Daughter’s Kaddish chronicles her year of saying Kaddish for her father, challenging longstanding tradition as a woman reciting the mourner’s prayer. In conversation with Rabbi Dana Saroken of Beth El Congregation, Sarah will reflect on grief, gender, spirituality and the personal journey behind her book.

Dodi Samuels, a local community member, will offer opening remarks.

This event is presented in partnership with Jewish Community Services, Sol Levinson & Bros., and the Jewish Library of Baltimore.

Free and open to the community. Registration required.
