Take a walk down memory lane! Relive those summers when the highlight revolved around the mailbox –shouting at the top of your lungs – “I got a letter!”
Whether you were a parent waiting to hear news about your little camper’s sleepover experiences or a camper eagerly awaiting a letter, or even better a care package from home, mail was the highlight of every day. Here, Amy Burke Friedman, a member of The Associated’s Jewish Professional Women and Sarenka Smith, a Young Adult Division participant and Co-chair of Camp Nai, eagerly share their camp letters – including Amy’s first communication ever.
Dear MoM,
You need to send me my “off” (near my mirror), my plaid boxers, and my Gameboy,
(don’t worry there is at least 5 people with them here, even my counselor! ask Steven for the games and recharger.
Camp is cool.
I like almost every-one. 3 people including me have headgear funny hugh?
I signed up for blue swimming to be with Marcy + Erica cause yellow had all the old old kids. I’m only in blue for elementary backstroke then I’ll move up. I’ll see Jeff on Sat. (We have a dance).
Love,
Amy B.
Mom,
I’m sorry my letters have not been as long as yours but we barely get time to write a lot! There are so many activities here! Oh, before I forget, thank you sooooooo much for all the candy and packages. I think some of my friends want you as their mom!!!!
The only thing to really complain about is the food- but the other day we went hiking and the sandwhiches they brought were waaaay better.
I miss you guys but I am having so much fun. Also, can you send a picture of Nacho and Lola? I have told everyone about our cats and how they have dog personalities!!!
I will try and write more later but have to run for dinner and campfire night.
