Born and Bred

Even before The Associated was formally established in 1920, its seeds were planted by devoted community leaders who abided by the obligations of tzedakah and tikkun olam. They recognized that by helping the less fortunate—and particularly newly arrived immigrants—their community would be stronger because of it.

The Early Campaigns

The Early Campaigns

 The first campaign in 1920 launched, with a dinner at the Lyric Opera House, and a lofty fundraising goal of $500,000.
Another Merger

Another Merger

 The Jewish Welfare Fund merges with Associated Jewish Charities, creating one organization that had greater efficiency and provided tangible proof of the community’s desire for unity.
