Expressing philanthropy through volunteerism
Repairing the world is a goal we can all work toward in ways large and small through hands-on volunteering. You told us that Jewish Baltimore needed more hands-on volunteering opportunities in our 2000 Community Study — and we quickly turned those data into action by establishing the Jewish Volunteer Connection (JVC).
Today, anyone of any age and range of skills can easily find ways to give of their time and talents. Because of people like you, the JVC has been able to coordinate hundreds of thousands of hours of service — an immeasurably important gift. Our agencies and programs have come to rely so much on volunteers that it would be impossible for many to function properly without them.
