With Maryland ranking among the states with the highest reported antisemitic incidents, The Associated is committed now, more than ever, to keep our community safe and stand against antisemitism.

Our approach to safety and security is multifaceted — from maintaining the safety of our buildings to offering trainings to organizations and community members. Most recently, we launched The Associated’s Center for Countering Antisemitism and Hate, which will do more to protect our Jewish spaces. It will empower our community with the knowledge they need to challenge hate wherever and whenever it appears.

We invest in state-of-the-art security infrastructure to keep our community safe. This includes surveillance systems and other advanced technologies that detect and deter potential threats.

We conduct comprehensive audits for nearly 200 synagogues, day schools and other Maryland Jewish institutions on a regular basis. These audits assess vulnerabilities, evaluate response times and identify ways to improve.

Our strong partnerships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies ensure a coordinated response to potential threats. We work hand in hand to share information, conduct joint training exercises and are vigilant about security concerns.
