The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore, referred to as The Associated, we, our or us, is committed to respecting your privacy and safeguarding the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information obtained through our websites, including associated.org and associated.giftlegacy.com, collectively referred to as the Sites, as well as through our programs, services, communications, fundraising, events, planned giving activities and other online and offline interactions.
This Policy applies to information collected directly from individuals, including donors, volunteers, program participants, event or travel registrants, planned giving prospects and community members. It also applies to information collected automatically through use of the Sites and digital communications, as well as information we may receive from service providers, partners or public sources in connection with our mission-driven outreach and engagement efforts.
By accessing or using the Sites, making a donation, registering for an event or travel experience, submitting information through the planned giving website, signing up for communications or otherwise providing personal information to The Associated, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described. If you do not agree, please do not use the Sites or provide personal information to us.
You may browse much of our Sites without providing personal information. We collect personal information when you choose to engage with us, including when you make a donation, inquire about or explore planned giving options, register for programs, events or travel, sign up for communications, complete forms, submit content or contact us.
Personal information you provide may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number and information related to donations, pledges, event registrations or planned giving inquiries.
When you make a donation or complete a transaction, payment-related information such as credit card details is collected and processed by third-party payment processors. The Associated does not store or retain credit card numbers.
When you visit our Sites, we may automatically collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, actions taken, referring URLs and the date, time and general geographic location of your visit.
We use personal information for legitimate organizational and operational purposes consistent with our mission. This includes processing donations, pledges and registrations, responding to inquiries, providing acknowledgments, receipts and confirmations, communicating about programs, services, events and planned giving opportunities, conducting fundraising and outreach activities, operating and improving our Sites, understanding how individuals engage with our content, evaluating the effectiveness of communications and ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.
Unless you opt out, we may communicate with you by mail, email, phone or digital channels regarding opportunities, updates and impact. You may opt out of communications at any time by following unsubscribe instructions or by contacting us directly.
The Associated protects donor confidentiality and does not sell donor information. Donors who request anonymity are honored. Unless anonymity is requested, donor names may appear in publications such as honor rolls or reports.
To support our outreach and engagement efforts, The Associated may use personal information such as mailing address, email address or other identifiers to communicate with individuals and households across multiple channels. These channels may include direct mail, email, digital advertising, social media platforms, digital display networks and connected or streaming media.
In some cases, contact or address information may be converted into de-identified or household-level identifiers, including through secure hashing or similar processes, to help deliver relevant messages, measure campaign effectiveness and reduce irrelevant outreach. These identifiers are not intended to directly identify you to advertising platforms.
Where required by law, information used for advertising or measurement purposes is shared in de-identified or aggregated form. You may opt out of marketing communications or certain forms of targeted outreach by using available unsubscribe options or contacting us directly.
We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience, analyze Site usage and evaluate the effectiveness of communications. Cookies may be session-based, which expire when you close your browser, or persistent, which remain until deleted.
We may also use analytics, measurement and performance tools provided by third-party service providers to understand how visitors interact with the Sites and to improve content and functionality. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, although some Site features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
Some browsers transmit Do Not Track signals. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to these signals, and we do not currently respond to them. Users may manage privacy and advertising preferences through browser or platform settings.
The Sites may include social media features or widgets operated by third parties. These features may collect information such as your IP address and browsing activity. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policies of the third parties that provide them.
We use personal information primarily for internal purposes and do not knowingly sell personal information.
We may share personal information with service providers and vendors that support payment processing, communications, website hosting, analytics, database management, advertising delivery or campaign measurement. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety or security of The Associated, our community members or the public.
Information shared with third parties is limited to what is reasonably necessary for them to perform their services. While we seek to work with partners that maintain appropriate safeguards, we are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
In the event of a merger, reorganization or transfer of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
The Sites are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under age 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under age 13.
The Sites may contain links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by The Associated. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of other websites you visit.
You may request access to, correction of or updates to your personal information, opt out of communications or ask questions about our data practices. Certain state privacy laws may provide additional rights. We honor applicable requests as required by law and will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in practices, technology, legal requirements or services. When changes are made, the Last Updated date will be revised and the updated Policy will be posted on the Sites.
