Gary Torgow is a nationally recognized business leader and dedicated Jewish communal lay leader. He is Chairman of Huntington Bank, a top 10 bank in the United States with approximately $279 billion in assets and 30,000 colleagues across thirty-seven states and over 1,000 offices.
As Chairman of the Jewish Federation of North America, Gary plays a leading role in advocating on behalf of Jewish communities across the country and around the world. He also serves as President of Yeshiva Beth Yehudah.
In addition to his communal service, Gary is widely respected for his business and civic leadership. He currently serves as Chairman of Business Leaders for Michigan and has spearheaded numerous efforts to support communities across Michigan, including leading the corporate fundraising for the City of Detroit’s Strategic Neighborhood Fund. Gary is also the founder of the Sterling Group, a Detroit real estate and development company.
Gary is a graduate of Yeshiva University and Wayne State University School of Law, where he received the Distinguished Alumni Award, and has received honorary Doctorates from Alma College and Eastern Michigan University.
