Once Upon My Mother is a 2025 film about a resilient Moroccan-Jewish mother named Esther who refuses to accept a doctor’s prognosis that her son, Roland, will never walk due to a clubfoot. The film, based on a true story, chronicles her decades-long journey of love, determination, and sacrifice to help him live a full and successful life. The movie is a tribute to maternal love, resilience, and overcoming challenges, with a soundtrack by the pop singer Sylvie Vartan.
