For Seth, Baltimore isn’t just where he lives; it’s always been part of his story. He grew up in Owings Mills, right near the Jewish Community Center, which became a big part of his life. Whether he was on the basketball court, playing sports at camp, or joining Diller Teen Fellows program with his twin brother, Reid, the JCC became his second home.
Driven by a deep commitment to his community and his passionate leadership skills, Seth’s involvement with The Associated has grown alongside him. What started in his early years has evolved into a continued investment in giving back and shaping the future of Jewish Baltimore.
Seth’s family roots in the community run even deeper-his family are longtime members of Beth El Congregation, where his great-grandfather was a founding member.
He attended Krieger Schechter Day School through fifth grade before heading to the Park School of Baltimore from sixth to twelfth grade. He then made his way to Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, studying policy management with a minor in economics.
After graduating, Seth returned to Baltimore and built his career in real estate. Today, he’s the Associate Director of Leasing at Klein Enterprises and lives in Hampden with his wife, Elise.
Between his junior and senior year of high school, Seth was selected as a Diller Teen Fellow in the 2012-2013 cohort. Diller Teen Fellows is a global leadership program for Jewish teens to step up and lead their communities, while exploring their Jewish identities.
Inspired by friends who had meaningful experiences in the program, Seth was drawn to the opportunity to grow as a young leader. During his time as a Diller Teen, he gained hands-on experience with service projects and began to more intentionally develop his leadership skills.
Leadership had already been a big part of Seth’s life, especially through playing on different sports teams, but Diller helped him sharpen those skills and better understand what it means to lead with purpose. For Seth, learning how to be an effective leader was the most impactful part of the experience.
As part of the Diller program, Seth spent three weeks in Israel with his cohort, touring the country and meeting Diller Teens from around the world. His favorite part of the experience was their last week in Ashkelon, Baltimore’s sister city. Seth says that this trip really deepened his connection to Israel, building on what he learned growing up from his parents and a previous visit through Maccabi programs.
Seth’s connection to The Associated has come full circle. Now a participant in the Young Leadership Council (YLC), he sees it as a meaningful way to give back to the community that gave so much to him and his family growing up.
His drive and passion to join YLC stem from a longstanding commitment to leadership, which began during his time as a Diller Teen Fellow. YLC is his chance to keep growing and building his leadership journey, while stepping into new ways to lead within the community. Seth also says it’s important to have young voices heard in the community.
“With antisemitism on the rise and all these terrible things happening to Jews around the world and in our community, it’s important to stick together. Community is important, and The Associated is a big part of what brings Baltimore together.”
He continues, “The Baltimore Jewish community is special because of the way we support one another. Being part of a community means giving back—by getting involved, connecting with other young leaders, understanding what the community needs and doing your part to help.”
After he graduates from the current YLC cohort in May 2027, Seth plans to stay actively involved, supporting both the Jewish community and the relationships he’s built along the way. He’s passionate about all that Jewish Baltimore has to offer and is eager to keep learning where he can make the greatest impact. For Seth, it’s not just about strengthening the community for those who grew up here, but also for newcomers looking to make Charm City feel like home.
