What is this thing called ‘text study’ and why do some Jews think it is so important (or awesome)? Join Rabbi Jessy Dressin for a monthly pop-up to gain the basic, time-tested tools used to dive into the wisdom and texts of Jewish tradition — but in our case — not necessarily using those traditional texts!
Each month we will take a set of song lyrics, poems or other contemporary content as we explore methods of inquiry, learning and questioning. No prior skillset or knowledge necessary (and never any prep or homework!) — and always the invitation to bring your own text. As with any toolbox, once you know how to use the tools you can build anything! Snacks and beverages will be provided!
Feel free to “pop-in” to Pop Culture Torah. You can come to as many or as few as interest you! (But please still register in advance.)
You can register for each session individually or all three, here.
