What does it mean for a woman to say Kaddish?
Join us for a powerful evening of reflection, conversation and storytelling as we explore the experiences of women who have said Kaddish, thought about saying it or are curious about what it means.
This program will feature author Sarah Birnbach, whose memoir A Daughter’s Kaddish chronicles her year of saying Kaddish for her father, challenging longstanding tradition as a woman reciting the mourner’s prayer. Corrine Janet, the Young Widow(er) Connector for the Jewish Connection Network, will be moderating a conversation with Rabbi Dana Saroken of Beth El Congregation as they reflect on grief, gender, spirituality.
Dodi Samuels, a local community member, will offer opening remarks.
This event is presented in partnership with Jewish Community Services, Sol Levinson & Bros., and The Jewish Library of Baltimore.
