Featured Speaker
Gary Torgow is an Orthodox Jewish leader from Detroit, Michigan. He has been an influential community leader there for over 40 years.
He is a prominent board member and officer of the Mesorah Heritage Foundation, which funds and sustains the Artscroll publishing empire.
He has served for many years as the president of Yeshiva Beth Yehuda, the oldest and largest Jewish educational institution in Michigan. He spearheaded the development of Partners, where hundreds of Jews from across the religious spectrum come together weekly to study Torah. He is the immediate past president of the Jewish Federation of Detroit and currently serves as the chair of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA).
Gary is well known and respected as an attorney, a banker, a community leader, a philanthropist, a mentor and advisor and a mensch. He is often described as a “walking kiddush Hashem,” a role that he plays with honor and profound humility. Most recently, he helped broker an arrangement through which the Israeli government will provide NIS 200 million for the first year of a program to strengthen Jewish education in the Diaspora.
