September 10 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Whether the holidays feel late or early, the Jewish New Year always comes right on time. Are we ready to greet it, never mind make meaning of it? Join Rabbi Jessy for two consecutive Thursday lunch blocks as we start to reawaken the spirit within us that prepares to welcome the High Holiday season.
During these two lunchtime conversations we will think about what it means to prepare oneself for spiritual reawakening. We’ll also work to shake off the residue that collects on the spirit and our best intentions from Yom Kippur last year to Rosh Hashanah this year. We will consider the wisdom of past sages on how to enter this season, and set some of our own intentions, making our own plan for the High Holiday season, readying ourselves to receive the holidays with meaning and joy.
This series is designed to build from one week to the next, but will not leave behind anyone able to join for only one of the two sessions. BYO lunch and Rabbi Jessy will provide the food for thought – along with the discussion – which will be what nourishes all who come around the table.
