Commemorating Juneteenth

On Monday, June 19, The Associated offices will be closed to commemorate Juneteenth. The holiday recognizes the people who help facilitate change for Black citizens in the United States and to remember the announcement in Galveston, Texas, over 150 years ago, that all American citizens could pursue the American dream and should be protected by its laws.

Below are some resources and links to events taking place in Baltimore.

Events and Celebrations

“Juneteenth is a day of reflection, a day of renewal, a pride-filled day. It is a moment in time taken to appreciate the African American experience. It is inclusive of all races, ethnicities and nationalities – as nothing is more comforting than the hand of a friend.” – Unknown
