b'Sister Yeshiyah IsraelREVITALIZING BALTIMORE COMMUNITIESSister Yeshiyah Israel is what you might call a force for good. As president of the Pimlico Merchants Association and owner of YBI African Apparel and Fashion on Park Heights Avenue, she is committed to working with Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. (CHAI), a member of the Northwest Baltimore Partnership (NWBP) to make Park Heights brighter, better and safer. In addition to her thriving boutique, Sister Yeshiyah will open her new Pimlico Market Caf by October 2021. The caf was made possible, in part, by a state-funded NWBP grant that CHAI helped Sister Yeshiyah to apply for.The neighborhood is a food desert, she says. The caf will help to change that by offering healthy fresh foods like salads and smoothies and providing healthy cooking classes for people in the area. Sister Yeshiyah appreciates the guidance and support she received from CHAI in completing the formidable application. I thank CHAI for believing in my idea and my energy. Im overwhelmed and happy to have a seat at the table and a voice. Working with CHAI has been a great experience.Im overwhelmed to havea seat at the table.'
