b'Andriys StoryWhen the war in Ukraine rst broke out, the classrooms at the ORT Zahbotinski School #94 in Odesafunded in part by The Associated once lled with childrens belongingsremained empty. Students like 4th grader Andriy Kit, were lled with anxiety, fear and grief. Our children missed the life connections with their peers and teachers, says Anna Michurina, director of the ORT Center in Odesa. To help them nd healthy ways to process what they are going through, we encouraged our students to draw. Andriys personal drawing included tanks and children waving ags set in the middle of a map of his homeland. Across the top of the page was the word peace written in Russian. The art project provided collective healing for the students. I think that drawing can show what you have inside your soul. I wish everyone in the world had a peaceful sky above their heads, he says. associated.org 37'
