The Associated and the Baltimore Jewish Times have partnered together in honor of The Associated’s 100th birthday to capture the historical perspective of 2020 and the importance of our community during this time period. We are accepting submission of written essays, shorts stories or poems about your experiences and feelings surrounding the importance of community during this challenging time. Stories and poems can be any length, but no more than 800 words – all entries are due by 5 p.m. Friday, July 31.
Talented winners across each age category will be selected:
First place winner for each category will receive a $250 gift card.
Second place winner for each category will receive a $100 gift card.
Associated network employees/families and Mid Atlantic Media employees/families are not eligible to win.
Submissions are open until 5pm, Friday, July 31, 2020.
The Associated and the JT are looking for work that demonstrates originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. After you have created your work, you will be able to upload for submission.
Complete your submissionAfter uploading your work, make sure if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian gives approval for submission as well.
Blind Judging: We will be assessing all work without knowledge of the artists; or writers’ identity. Please make sure that your submission does not contain any personal information.
