Prevention
Reducing access to lethal means — especially firearms — can determine whether someone at risk for suicide
lives or dies.
This training will enhance participants’ ability to:
• Identify people who could benefit from lethal means counseling
• Ask individuals receiving counseling about access to lethal means
• Work with individuals and their families to reduce access to lethal means
• Utilize Maryland’s Extreme Risk Protective Order (ERPO) law
Social workers and other clinicians attending this program will receive 2.0 Category I CEUs
