Join us for the second in a series of candid conversations with Rabbis and Board Chairs:
Rabbi Andrew Busch and Richard Gross – Baltimore Hebrew Congregation
Rabbi Joshua Gruenberg and Dr. Stephen Pomerantz – Chizuk Amuno Congregation
Rabbi Shmuel Silber and Yehuda Neuberger – Suburban Orthodox

This critical conversation will focus on how synagogue leadership in the community have grappled with the unknown, pivoted to meet the quickly changing environment and made tough decisions – all while continuing to serve their members and share a message of hope.

Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin will facilitate this session. Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin is a community rabbi who served as the Jewish educator at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore (JCC) for seven years. She is a serial social entrepreneur, having founded organizations such as the Jewish Women’s Resource Center, the Jewish Pregnancy Loss and Infertility Program and the National Center for Jewish Healing in New York City. After moving to Baltimore and completing her tenure at the JCC, she founded the Baltimore Orchard Project (an environmental land-use and food justice organization), a movement to create an Environmental Human Rights amendment for Maryland’s constitution, and Rey’im – a program that trains individuals to be spiritual companions in times of difficulty. She continues to teach at various venues around the city.
